At LFOF, we have been actively working with other local organizations to understand how we can make a greater impact in our community, especially for families who need it most. In addition to facing illness, many families with dependent children are confronting food insecurity and financial instability due to COVID-19. Simultaneously, many of our beloved local restaurants are struggling amidst social distancing requirements.
We have coordinated a Community Meal Drive where a payment of $45-55* will buy a delicious dinner for a family of 4-5 people with dependent children who are ill, prepared by our friends at local restaurants, and delivered directly to their door. This is informal and an opportunity for our compassionate volunteers to make a difference while supporting a local business and the efforts of the newly formed Coalition for Community. Our goal is to provide as many meals as our volunteers are willing to contribute over the summer.

- Meals will be delivered each Thursday, and we will plan to partner with a different local restaurant each week. (*Please note: price per meal is subject to change based on our current partner.)
- Payment (via check) will be made directly to the restaurant based on the number of meals ordered, so this is not considered a tax-deductible donation to LFOF. Therefore, we are unable to accept payment on our Paypal site.
- Meals are distributed on Thursday, so orders need to be placed by Tuesday at 9pm. Orders received after that will be put towards the following week.
- Meals will be given to families with dependent children in need that we have identified through schools and other local community partners.
- We hope to continue through Labor Day as businesses gradually complete the process of reopening.
